How to #1: How to make settingwater for your hair.

I found this recipe in my herbal book and thought I'd share with all of you. For anyone out there setting pin-curls or setting curlers the good old fashion way this is a great addition for your hair.

A settingwater that suits your hair can make your hair look great, healthy and make you «do» stay perfect longer. It also makes shaping those lucious curles or waves so much easier in addition to being heat protectant if you blow dry or use hot curlers.

To add shine for all hair types:
    • 1.5 dl warm water
    • 0.5 ts freshly pressed lemon juice
    • 1 ts honney
    • 5 drops linalo-oil or other etheric oil that you like the scent of.

For thin, dry hair:
    • 1.5 dl warm water
    • ½ ts fruit vinegar
    • 1 ts honney
    • 4 drops of camomile oil

For chemically treated hair:
    • 1.5 dl warm water
    • 0.5 ts fruit vinegar
    • 1 ts honney
    • 5 drops linalo-oil or other etheric oil.

How to make:
  1. Stir the honney into the warm water.
  2. When it is fully dissolved, add the other ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  3. Put the setting-water into a spray bottle and add evenly through your hair. Comb through and set your hair the way you like.

The amounts over are for 1 hairwash. This is to always have a fresh supply to make the herbs work every time.

PS: if you are allergic to honney, you can use maple syrup instead. Remeber to test a small portion of the water before using it if you think you might be allergic.

Want to make your natural hair color pop? Use a small amount of the following herbs to make your color pop.

For the blonde hair: Use dried Roman Camomille (Chamaemelum nobile)

For red, auburn, ginger or ather red-ish brown: Use red sandalwood (Pterocarpus santalinus)

For brown or dark hair: Use walnutt shell (Juglans regia)

For grey hair: Use dried Cantaurea Cyanus.

To lighten you hair: Use lemon. It makes you hair healthier and lightens it.
